amelie.

amelie2.jpgi

this last week i recieved Amelie in the mail.  i purchased it on impulse off ebay.

i then proceeded to tell my friend Josh i had just gotten it in the mail...

Josh... "what's that?"  (ME SHOCKED).

(really shocked because you sorta just like... expect that everyone has seen this movie... or at least heard of it and understanding of the ridiculousness of not having seen it)

so i make a comment to Brittany 15 min. later that Josh has never seen this movie... assuming she has of course as well....

Brittany... "yeah.. i've never seen amelie... just never have."  ( ME SHOOOOCKKKED & feeling like a bit of a fool...)

i go upstairs to see Andrea and mention it to her as well...

me: "andrea... we need to show Josh and Brittany the movie Amelie... they've never seen it..."

Andrea "OH... you mentioned that movie one time... i dont know it."  (i feel ridiculous).

laterrrr that evening.

with josh and andrea walking to starbucks...

Brian Kraft pulls up on his moped and i say something to him...

GUESS WHOS NEVER HEARD OF AMELIE?

oh jeeze.

so finally that evening i mention something about watching it and they say yes... and my friend Nicole comes into the lobby...

if i can count on ANY person its Nicole.

never even heard of it.

I DONT UNDERSTAND.

i seriously ... SERIOUSLY thought that everyone knew this movie... and that if there were a few people out there who didn't they would be predictable American Eagle wearing, chick flick viewing MR. F's....

not the people on our campus i find to be some of the most universally cultured and normal.

so andrea and nicole and i started Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain at 1 am.

and they loved it.

and i feel strange.
